How long do you have to separate the lambs from the mother until she stops producing milk?

Depends on the ewe but for my sheep and breeds I had, normally ranged from 2 to 3 months... after awhile I just separated them all for 3 months, that seemed to do the trick.
Added: I would wean them when they were 4 months to 5 months old depending on breed. Ram lambs normally weaned at 4 months.

It also depends on the age of the lamb. If you wean at 30 days it takes much longer than if you wean at 100 days.
