Has anyone grown these/used these?
Do you like them? Looking for more veggies we can store in cold room through the winter.
Ordered some seed from Fedco

They might be German beer radishes? Also called winter radishes because they are planted late and then stored like turnips or rutabagas. I've grown 3 different kinds; white, black, and red & white. The white ones stored the best and that was done in sawdust.

Ok, I already grow the spanish black and rose ones. I have only called the winter raddishes. But they don't store well for me. Is there a trick to them I don't know yet?

I see that it's a daikon. Those can be stored just like the German beer radishes. Instructions would be in damp sand and in a cool dark place. Can't get any more simple than that.

daikons are easy to grow in the PNW. Best luck i've had with them has been to start them in late summer, early fall and harvest before first hard frost. If I start them in the spring and they get hit with cold, they survive just fine, but they get the radish "hot" flavor.

kim chi made from daikons is delicious!
