Work your way in from the walls.
To get around your table and chairs, you will need at least 2 feet along the walls. Your chairs will take up about 2 feet with a person sitting at the table - so -
2' X 2 along each wall = 4'. 10'- 4' = 6'
2' for each chair on each side 2' X 2 = 4'. 6' - 4' = 2'
Your table can be 2' wide!!!!
Add a hutch or cupboard and buy the chairs and tv stands.
That's the problem with buying a table and chairs in the furniture store. They look SO small in that HUGE show room. Get them into your house - and they take up the whole room.
blufford - Yes, I agree that the restaurants need to understand that since American people are getting bigger, they need to have more room between tables!!
