Powerhorse 7000 generator problem

I have a new (3months old) powerhorse 7000 watt generator.
It ran fine then began shutting off after about 15 minutes or so.
Now it will start up immediately then shut down. Restarting it produces the same result. I notice that there is an arm on the top of the motor that will move and seems to shut the thing down.
It has fresh fuel. I disassembled the carb and it was clean and the jet clean.
It is getting fuel delivery. It has the correct oil level.
Is it possible that the low oil sensor is defective?
Northern Tool does not offer service and is saying that I have to ship the thing to get it repaired. Unbelievable.
I have not been able to find any trouble shooting info on it and the owners manual is useless.

Some of the Chinese stuff doesn't have a parts distribution network for repairs. that's probably why they want you to return it for service. In some cases there are no parts available. I read of one case of a Generac that had to be returned that had a Chinese engine. That return was to check on the dealer attempt at repair.

We're in a new era to remind folks that don't know. Before you buy those bargains, ask for a parts list. Those used to be commonly available. That's a red flag now. If there's no parts list availble that's a bad sign. It might mean that the build cost was so cheap they can afford to replace them a couple of times and still make a profit.

Asking for something to be returned may mean it's not going to be repaired. It will be replaced until they get tired of replacing it. Meanwhile you're left waiting for the replacement. Then when it arrives, you wonder how long the new one will last.

Be careful of what repairs you attempt. Anything that you do may void what little bit of warranty that you do have.

THE arm is probably the engine govenor

You can check the oil pressure switch by usually shorting the terminals together. some may be to break the connection.

You can but a small engine spark tester, it looks like a bakelite circle with terminals and a clamp on it. connect between the spark plug and coil. see if spark continues

See if choke REALLY works

The carb has fuel delivery, even after stalling. I verified this by removing the drain screw on the carb bowl, after it produces the symptom.

@ Zephaniah. Thanks. That governor arm would be the same in other small engine applications and ground, cutting the ignition circuit?
I will get a spark tester.
I am thinking that the low oil level sensor is the same type of single poled switch used on many motorcycles for a low oil indicator lamp.
So if has continuity the switch is on, high resistance to infinity, the switch is off.
I will break out the multi meter and continue my degree in hard knocks in small equipment.

I have a powerhorse 9000 Gen set. I have taken it back twice for the throttle down feature. The solenoid that activates the fuel saving Throttle down feature has failed twice so far. They gave me a spare after they replaces the second one. I had to take it back to Northern Tool ( an hour and half drive each way) to get it serviced. The unit runs OK and powers tools fine but the cheap solenoid makes me think I will pay more for a better unit next time.
