I have one that hubby gave me a few years ago when I could not get the deli to "shave" the meat thin enough for me. I don't use it anymore for many reasons. 1. it is a pain to clean. 2. When I buy the hams to slice I have to cut it down with a knife to make it fit on the slicer. So my recommendations is to go bigger than you think you need and read the manual to make sure it is easy to take apart and clean.

 

we bought one from cabel's on sale--it works thats all I can say. slide is too far from blade and you have to keep flipping the meat to get it cut straight, under powered, and too small for a whole ham. we bought it for sliceing buckboard bacon and it does ok for that.

 

If you can afford it,buy a real commercial one,like a Hobart.

They are huge,easy to clean,and can slice almost anything.
And huge...and heavy.

We have a dinky little one,more of a pain to use than it is worth.
