Yes, Become a member first and get your herd name, tattoo etc.. Then when you register the doe you can use your herd name instead of The. Membership name is your name or yours and hubbies or whatever you want.

 

I'm not seeing any place on the membership registration for a herd name. Am I missing something? The membership enrollment form (online) asks for memebership name and also for 4 choices for tattoos. I also have a paper form about registering a herd name. It has spaces for 2 choices for a herd name and 4 choices for tattoos. Is there any way that I can sign up for all of it together? My name, herd name, and tattoo choices?

Sabrina had to be registered, so does Sam....Bleuberry is registered, needs to be transfered into my name....

I figured out my herd name, but dunno how or what to choose tattoos.

On Sabrina, she didn't come from anyone with a "herd" name...so I didn't know if I should pick a name and ADGA add "The" to it, or do I include "the" when I pick the name, or, could I put my herd name on her after I'm a member.....It's a mess, and overly complicated so I haven't done any of it

 

You can call ADGA. They are very helpful and will try to work you through it. I just went through all of this too. Finally got a herd name and tattoo approved today.

 

I'll just talked to them. Yes, you become a member first (you can request your tattoo numbers at that time). They will send out a memership packet. I can then do all of the rest of the stuff that I need to do. I feel so official...hee hee hee!

 

After you sign up for membership and tattoo they'll send you a packet with signature cards, herd name choices, etc. I'm in the process of figuring out a herd name. I've never liked giving one title to everything I do. Even my farm doesn't really have a name.
