I picked up another Ruger SR1911, this one a 9mm.
It's the light weight, so around 7oz lighter than my .45.

well you did buy one of the nicest 1911s out of the box
so I take it that means you hit the show this weekend?

also , don't count then when your wife asks you have a number to give her.

by not counting I can say , I don't know , some.

my wife actually wouldn't have cared , and now really doesn't.

you know what I don't own , a 1911
and you know why I don't own a 1911 , my hands are so big the grip digs into my palm so they are uncomfortable to shoot.

I can remember when a Colt 1911, was $189.00 new in the box. Now I see cheap knockoffs for over a thousand dollars. I carried a Colt Government Model in .45 for many years. I have used them to harvest game from jackrabbits, to white tailed deer. I carried one in the bush in West Africa, and the streets here in the US. To me they are a work of art.

I don't carry one today, because their are better less expensive choices.

and a new car was $3,300 not $33,000

from 50 years ago we are basically in a decimal point shift.
my parents paid 40,000 for their house 47 years ago , it is assessed at 375,000 now

my moms first new car in 1973 was $3300.00 and it had air conditioning.

I recall a saying , that a new colt SAA single action army rarely differed from that of a 20 dollar gold peice from 1873 on
