What is this?
I work at a vets office. Last week, we had a 4 week old pygmy cross come in. He was pulled from his mom 2 weeks before and became a bottle baby, he was also a triplet. When he came in, he was extremely lethargic, couldnt stand, had hardly any suckle re-flex at all. he just laid there. he also had a extremely sub-normal body temp. It didnt even read on our mercury thermometer, on the digital it was right around 92 degrees f.
He got sub-q fluids, a bo-se shot and was warmed up. He wasnt allowed to go home until his temp. was normal. He came back the next day with the same symptoms just a bit worse. We put a catheter in and he got a special mix of IV fluids reccomended by a UC Davis vet. He was doing better after that. Today he came back in, he was still a little lethargic and just overall not feeling very well at all. He got a bo-se shot again today and was sent home.
So if you guys have dealt with floppy kid sydrome, does it sound like he has it? Or could it be something else?
