I need to permanently affix a 5/8" diameter steel dowel pin in a small crankshaft. The dowel pin is used as a rod journal and it has worked its way out of the press fit hole it was in. I am aware of various Loctite products but would like to have someone that is familiar as to what product that may be considered best on the market. TIA

I've used loctite formathread, it held my water pump on just fine. Might just snug up a dowel pin.
You can get oversize pins and re-drive it in.
It depends on how loose it is but you can get 10 to 20 thousands oversize pins. If it is to wallowed out you could ream it oversize and install a new pin.
