I was never in 4-H so not really sure of all the ins and outs of their shows. I have a student (horse-back riding) who is in 4-H and wants to show a couple of my goats. We are trying to figure out which ones to show but since school is not back in yet she hasn't talked to the 4-H leader (who is knew to showing goats anyway). Maybe some of you on here might know! My questions are:
1) Do they have to be registered and what registries if so? (I have ND's and Nubians)
2) Do they even judge on the goat or is it all a showmanship type thing?
3) They have a dairy class for purebred dairy goats and one for grade. What would an reg. American Nubian fall under?
Those are all I can think of for right now although I will probably think of more! There is a seminar I am going to attend with her this saturday, but I have also had another kid calling yesterday I have to get back to wanting to buy a goat for the fair so wanted to make sure I pointed her towards ones that would be eligible! Thanks!
