I wish I knew where my digital camera is so I could take pics!!

Today I needed to go into Lowes to look for parts for an auto-watering system for my chickens, and my mother decided to look around in the garden department while she was waiting for me. While she was back there, some employees started pushing some of those rolling shelves back to one corner to clear out about a ton of plants. These were NOT half dead plants, they were wonderfully lush, healthy and green. The prices are what we couldn't believe. 10 cents and 25 cents each!

We got 8 salvias in 6 inch pots for 25 cents each. Everything else was 10 cents.

No kidding, the following were 10 cents each!

Assorted colors of lantanas in 6 inch pots
4-pack bedding plants (begonias, coleus, and a bunch of others)- we got several flats
Assorted colors of daylillies in 6 inch pots
    Coreopsis in 4 inch pots
    Hostas in 6 inch pots

And probably a few I'm forgetting.

We filled the entire back of the mini van to overflowing for $11 and change.

It's a good thing my mother was standing there when they brought them out or we would have missed out. We were both grabbing plants and throwing them into shopping carts and fighting the crowd while we were doing it. Seems like about 10 minutes after the plants were marked and placed back there in that corner about half the store was back there fighting over them.

All those plants were gone in a hurry!

What kinds of plants are those? Hopefully they're not edible. Lowes around here sprays about a gallon of MiracleGrow into every plant. :p

Nope, nothing edible. A few annuals and lots of perennials. Just stuff to pretty up the yard. :)

    Congrats on your good deals!

Lowe's is a great place to find bargains. Last Fall hubby and I happened to be there at the right time and got a lot of shrubs (lilacs, etc.) for our yard. Everything was marked down to $1. Some of these had originally been $12-$30 each.

Plus, Lowe's offers a 1 year money back guarantee if something dies.

We plan to stalk Lowe's this Fall hoping to catch more great bargains!

I'm green with envy! Good for you on being in the right place at the right time. I guess I will start stalking the Garden centers.

    Good deal!

I know that from now on everytime I go into Lowes I'll have to rush to the garden dept first thing to see if there are any deals. But I'm not expecting to find 10 cent plants very often lol
