I just found a few eggs in the corner of the coop. They might have been there since yesterday but not longer. It's 101 here yesterday and today.
Would you eat them or should they be tossed?
thanks!!

I'd eat them. In fact, I'd probably leave them out on the counter for another day or so and then hard-boil them.

If you're sure they aren't older than that they should be fine.

That's what I was thinking. Usually they do sit on the counter till we eat them. It's just so hot out I thought I'd ask.
Thanks all!

water test the eggs.

If they float toss them out.

if they sink they are fresh

if they bob bake with them or hard boil

I water test every egg
after my son "found" and egg and I cracked it NEVER WILL THAT EVER HAPPEN AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The float test is great. The angle of float is important. Actually, the egg shouldn't float at all. It should be touching the bottom of the water-filled container. If it lays on it's side it's good. If it bobs at an angle, it's still okay to cook with. If it bobs straight up, or actually floats, CAREFULLY remove it from your home, it's gone bad.

Just to let you all know I'm alive. :)
I ate them before reading about the float test. Next time that's what I'll do.
Thanks
