For Corner Post.Rock Post are cheaper, won't rot and won't burn.Wood is easier to put in.

Which would you put in?

A large well braced hedge (osage Orange) post will last nearly forever and you can fasten to it.

If I were wanting to install a corner post for permanency I would use neither of those you mentioned. I would either use a large diameter pipe filled with concrete or make a concrete post to use. Rock posts are hard to fasten to whereas either pipe or concrete could have fixtures built in to affix to.

Rock is easy to fasten to.Just wrap around the and tie off.Been using them for years, most my Corner Post on the place are Rock.Pipe would cost me way too much.

ksfarmer all we have is Oak.Don't even have Cedar.

DW says we won't be able to get holes dug for Wood,so our only option might be Rock.
