I need to install a dryer and need to know, for sure, what size breaker and wire needed. FYI, the total wire run is only 10 feet.

10-3 wire with 30A double pole breaker. 2 hots (red and black) with white neutral, ground to box. Older dryers only have three prong cords--replace old cord with new one that has 4 prong (with a separate ground, older dryers grounded through the neutral...bad idea). Use a 4 prong receptacle.

That's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure 10 ga wire would be enough.
