I've been looking at articles about projected oil prices for this winter -- $100 a barrel is apparently a possibility -- in light of a conversation I had with a neighbor Sunday. He was in the market for firewood, and prices in our area are running at around $220 a cord. My fuel oil supplier is offering various prepay and locked-in price deals that have to be signed within a week or so. Right now I'm thinking about buying maybe 500 gallons and depending on my woodstove to carry the balance. Anyone else thinking about staying warm in the cold on a hot day like this?
