Saw one had fallen off and was laying green on the ground. Which side of the houses windows should I put the mater to ripen it?

Put in a brown paper bag and sit it in the dark for best results, i promise i'm not joking.

I've put a big box of green ones with a couple ripe apples in it under a bed for about a week... 90% ripened...

Yea, it's supossed to be the offgassing from the fruit helps

Its the natural Ethylene gas that's the catalyst of the ripening process. Quite a miracle really. Of course man has now learned how to pick hard green Tomatoes, ship them across the globe in a shipping container, then inject manmade Ethylene into the the shipping container and ripen the whole lot in a week or two! No thanks!! I"ll stick to my in season, in garden, Purple Cherokees!!!! :hobbyhors
