Shumways is sold out for this year. OSC will not ship to America. I ordered a catalog from Shumways, I hope they will have the seeds next year.

Check some of your local feed stores. One of mine carried them this year, unfortunately it was the one that went out of business.

Does anyone have any to sell or trade?

Thanks everyone for the ideas of where to look. My grandma says that she remembers feeding them over the winter months to the sheep and I would like to try to grow some for next year so I could feed them to the goats over winter. Has any one else fed them to livestock?

My dad remembers feeding them, but he called them by another name.

Hi Folks- What is a mangel? This one is new to me. Take Care :)
It's a really huge beet. They are dark red and grow up to 2 feet tall, about 1/2 in the ground and 1/2 above the ground. They are a good feed for cattle, rabbits, goats, and other animals. It was a staple back before commercial feeds were available.
