Dershowitz says forced Covid vaccination could happen
To refuse a vaccination for a deadly disease known to be in the area is stupid. To refuse it for your children is child abuse. To become a vector and a danger to your neighbor is criminal.
Do people not remember polio? Smallpox? A host of diseases wiped out by vaccinations, so many that people today think there were never contagious deadly diseases. This "I won't be bullied into taking a vaccine" is pure asininity.
You really should change the “When” in your thread title to “If”.
And Dershowitz is welcome to try to stick a needle in me.
It won’t end well for him, but he’s more than welcome to try.
My body, my choice.
I see what you did there.
I am going to throw up.
With all the known mutations I doubt it will be all that effective. I'll pass.
I would be afraid of something brought to market like we are seeing in the current gold rush.
I don't disagree with your point but I would like researchers to carefully enough that we have some confidence that the vaccine they offer is safe and we aren't going to later that the consequences of a rushed vaccine has dangerous consequences.
I remember not getting the chickenpox vaccine! When did you get yours?
Where was chicken pox mentioned?
I'd say it was in Oxankle's reply to the OP. "A host of diseases" would likely include chicken pox, along with measles, mumps, rubella and tuberculosis (not widely used in the U.S.).
IF they do come up with a safe and effective vaccine, it is only prudent to have yourself checked for antibodies before getting it. Many, many people have had this virus and never even known it.
The common cold is a form of Corona Virus. They have been looking for a cure for a couple hundred years, no luck yet. The vaccine for the flu that comes around every year, is just a best guess, and does nothing for the majority of people who get it. This new virus is much more harmful than the cold, or the flu. I don't think we need to worry about getting a shot for a very long time, if ever.
They'll likely try to give you one whether it works or not.
Trying to force people to get a shot will probably result in more than just a few deaths. This isn't China, yet.
I have been "shot" at before. Didn't end will for the shooters.
I think I will wait and let some other people get the shot first. If that all works out well, then I'll consider getting one for myself.
Jeffrey D: When I was a kid there was no chicken pox vaccine. Since chicken pox is not a terribly serious event for children, most mothers wanted their children to get chicken pox so that it would not attack them as adults. LOL, one Saturday I went out into the country to visit a friend and we went fishing in the creek on their place. He took his shirt off---CHICKEN POX, and he had been in school all the week before. We were probably about ten years old at the time and I had already had MY chicken pox.
I think I'll wait and let a lot of people take the shot and if enough take it, that will mean there is far less or maybe none of the virus circulating and I should be good to go. I got the Swine Flu shot in the military with no side effects but it did harm some people in certain parts of the world.
