When to move a peony??

    All my peonies are coming up and I would like to move some to another area. When is the best time to move them??? I am mid-Ohio...zone 5 Thank you!!!

    i'm zone 6 and i just moved a couple. they were pretty small-no buds. have moved much larger ones but did those in the fall when i think is suppose to be the preferred time.

    The best time is after they are thru blooming and the foliage is starting to die back. If you have them mulched well they will be easier to dig. If you can't get to them before fall you can clip the ragged foliage back and put a marker to show where they are. You can move them now, but they are not likely to bloom this year if you do.
