I'm OK for a few months but many of the people laid-off have nothing when the unemployment is used up. What are they going to do? How are they going to pay the bills?

If there are enough homeless people and insufficient facilities to house them, people might start squatting in the vacant, repossessed homes or vacant commercial buildings. There are already tent cities in some areas.
