Hi this is my first time posting to the gardening list! I'm so glad there is a place to ask questions!

Does anybody know whats wrong with my cabbage plants?

They were all fine and then all of a sudden they were sick! is this something I can fix? is it a bug?? will it spread to the rest of my cabbages? or the rest of my garden?

    Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the link Moopups, I'm gonna bookmark it for referenceing later!
I don't think its any of those, it looks different.
I think its a bug of some sort because if it was a mineral problem I would think the whole row would be affected.
    I'll keep lookin!

I talked to my mother who is visiting for a few weeks and is the gardener in the family and she said to pull them up and look at the roots, It sounded like cut worms to her. so I did. YUCK!!!! there were worms just wigglin all over and in the roots! Sooo is there any thing I can do to fight these things without using any poisons?

Cutworms, in my experience, cut off little seedlings, and don't infest the roots. Cabbage root maggots are little worm-like things that eat the roots. Maybe that is what they are?
I forget what we do to get rid of them.
