I was cleaning up my raised beds today, 70 degrees out, and i pulled up a few carrots i'd missed. pulled 4 that looked like carrots, but tops were different,-- but--on the feeder roots were tiny grey/blue insects clinging to the roots. in another spot was a little red/brown spider that looked as if he was eating them.these were all about the size of spider mites, but everything was underground. any idea if these are pests-or just part of nature?

They're pests then. I have heard growing marigolds either with the carrots or the season before the carrots helps get rid of some carrot burrowing pests, can't hurt to try the marigolds next year.

Did the bugs look like these at all???
