I fenced off our garden with two by fours and garden netting. I had to save the heavy gauge wire for the duck pen which is directly off of the garden.
I have found my broccoli eaten down to nothing but stalks, and completely gone. I caught a few times a critter, not sure what it is, either a beaver or something with a flat tail running in and out of our falling down barn. As well I caught him in the pasture where the garden and ducks are. Any clue?

I bet this is your critter. Woodchucks are hard on gardens. If it's a woodchuck I'd shoot it asap to save the garden. If you pasture livestock watch for holes that can break legs.

    He's Cute!!! :)

Actually, it does look something like the thing we have. Except our critter is fat, probably from eating our broccoli. And the tail is definitly flat. Do woodchucks have flat tails?
