Someone here mentioned chili dogs in the last week or so. I was shopping last night and saw a can of “chili dog chili”. I’m sure it’s not any better or different than usual canned chili, but it sparked the idea. I then bought some Vienna beef Franks and hotdog buns. So that’s my plan for dinner tonight.
Gotta love chili dogs.

I buy Tony Packos Hot Dog chili sauce by the case (12 can case). I used to order either on amazon or from Tony Packo's warehouse. Now a local store started stocking it, and I buy enough of it to keep my stash up and for them to keep it on the shelf. LOL. My 23 Yo loves chili dogs, so he goes through it quickly. My son also likes Vietti Hot Dog chili sauce. It is tasty, but i still prefer Packos.

If you want me to send a few cans your way to try - I can send you some.

Busy day in the kitchen today.

It started with sourdough blueberry pancakes/ I froze the extras.

I used up a bunch of eggs that were picked up a while back at a decent price which I thought was $$ ridiculous at the time of purchase. They were getting old so we made hard boiled eggs for deviled eggs, and scrambled eggs that were then frozen in servings for filling future breakfast burritos.

DH had it out with my broken oven, it works again.
As much as I dislike this oven, we just were not really happy with what is available, so all is good for now.

Sourdough starter came back out of the fridge last night and bread was made today to celebrate!

We had the Sour cream chicken enchiladas for dinner, I halved the recipe and used poblanos as the peppers. You could do a lot more with the filling, and I will next time.

Tomorrow is simple, leftovers :)

Thanks for the tip and offer. Yeah, this was just the generic store brand can, and didn’t have much flavor. I’ll look for that brand around here first, I don’t want to put you out for a can of chili. :)

I had a breakfast for dinner situation. Omelette with goat cheese, onions and diced tomato, and half a toasted bagel. I have goat cheese that needs using up and suspect that I'll have the same meal for breakfast tomorrow.

I also want a chili cheese dog after reading about them several times - I've never had one but I'm pretty sure I'd like it. Chili, hotdog on a bun, some cheese on top; it's all good. Maybe dinner tomorrow or Thursday

alida - I make and eat them with bun, chili, hotdog, more chili, some onion, cheese, and mustard. But that is just me. I've seen them built many different ways.

Had a work function at a local restaurant today, so ended up ordering some poutine with beer cheese and a fried egg on top. Also, since it was wings Wednesday, ordered some wings with the house rub. Both were very tasty and filling. There was enough left over that it became supper for tonight as well. Since tonight was "leftovers" night, we all ate different things to use up leftovers (luckily no one else wanted what I was enjoying, lol)

Subconsciously I must have a thing for Rice Pudding. It's in the oven and will be done bout lunch time...
Wonder if'n I'll have anything else besides that for lunch or even the evening meal? ;)
Although I do have Scalloped potatoes with ham in the oven, but that's for my DD, a request for her to take to some sort of luncheon get-together.... Oh well....

Last time I was out I picked up several clearance boxes of Pannetone bread, I guess no one around here likes them, so it was my gain. I usually pick one up every Christmas if I see them.
At a little over a dollar a box for the regular sized I couldn’t even make them for that price. ( not that I’m even up to that challenge)
They are good until June, so once a month we will have one to enjoy.

We started the day with a slice and orange juice.

Chopped salad with chicken for lunch.

Pulled pork on buns, acorn squash and baked beans for dinner.

Goulash, baked potato and something with carrots tomorrow night.

Pannetone. That's a fantastic price. I think it's one of those breads that's like Christmas cake. People really like them, or really don't. I like them.

My sister, who manages a food program and cooks for people in challenging circumstances is up to her eyeballs in Pannetone at the moment, all donations. There will be a lot of bread pudding for those 100+ plus meals she plans three times a week. Sometimes she'll have a firm pudding like that wrapped to go, as the meals are quite substantial and people like to save something for later.

As for me, I have enough leftover turkey that I'm going to make turkey and dumplings. The first and only time I made dumplings I didn't realize how big they could get, now I'll make 'em half the size.

Just remember that Pink Floyd quote I posted last time you did that.
Yea, I remember.....
Have no fear, DD took the pan of rice pudding (minus 2 servings) with her when she left with the scalloped potatoes..... Darn!!!
After seeing your French Toast though, hummm is it time for Brunch. ;)

Well my second attempt making dumplings was a bust. They were a soggy leaden mess and after trying one I fished the rest out and chucked them into the garbage. I gave them 15 minutes, didn't open the lid to peek and still...leaden mess. I boiled up some wide egg noodles, added them to the turkey and was very happy with that result.

I'm not sure what's for dinner, maybe fish and chips given that it's a Friday.
