I've had rabbits for a couple years now, Cal/NZ crosses. My operation is really small, Cal buck and two NZ does. I originally thought to have rabbit on the menu occasionally but so far I've sold every bunny to prospective rabbit raisers. I've only eaten two cull does.
I bought a Flemish Giant baby nine months ago and recently bred her to Gravy, my buck. Do you think I'll get bigger meat rabbits, or lanky long boned jack rabbit types with black ears? This is an experiment on my part, hoping for big blocky rabbits. Happy, the FG looks more "harey", but is easily twice the size of Gravy. What do the experts predict? (Gravy's brother, Biscuits went to a dream home, fathering my friends bunnies. I got $25 for him at 5 mo.)
