Every time I work in the vegetable garden, I get ticks on me. What do you use to kill the ticks in your yard and garden that won't poison you when you eat the vegetables? I prefer to kill them than to have to wear treated clothing.

Permethrin treated clothing kills ticks without harming you or contaminating your vegetables.

Some people say using sulfur dust on your socks repells them. I've never tried it but I have sulfur available to try this year.

My mom used 7-Dust, I don't know if they even make it any more. I tie kerosene soaked rags around my ankles. It keeps the ticks, chiggers, and fleas away. It also keeps the sugar ants from crawling up your legs and eating your candy ass. Oh shoot, did I just say that out loud?

I was in a store a few days ago and felt something on my arm. It was a hungry, hungry tick. I had to use my knife to cut it in half and run it down the sink drain in the ladies room.

I have my can of permethrin handy. I just need a dry day to treat a pair of work pants. I hope it works against chiggers. Those bugs love me.

Don't spray it on the cat. If your garden clothes are treated, change before snuggling with the cat.
