i have an acre that will get fenced in in january, and i would like to grow something for the goats to much on, and maybe the chickens to scratch in. we have access to 1/3 of a water share, although would prefer not to use that much of it, and i was wondering what would be good to grow, and would be productive this spring/summer. clover, alfalfa, ryegrass, i have NO idea! any help is appreciated!

Alfalfa does really well on irrigated desert. I've seen yellow clover growing where you really wouldn't think it should because it was so dry (in CO and UT).
