I have a bushy tree or a treeish bush in an old orchard that is producing a small fruit, not as big as a black walnut when husked. It is a fleshy yellow on the inside with one small pit. It ripens from yellow to pink to red and is sweet even pink. My sister says it is a dwarf plum.
Anyone have any idea?
I can take a photo if necessary. I am going out to pick a bunch and make jelly.

Sounds like the wild plums that we have in the pasture. If it is they make great jelly.
