I grow it in my herb garden most years. It's a Mexican herb that is traditionally used when making beans. You could order it from Penzeys spices, already dried. And I've seen it in the Mexican food aisle at a few grocery stores.

It is the stuff growing all over my yard!!
It took me YEARS to figure out what it was because I am in NC.
It is not a native. Nope.

What happened was there was a drought in the 60's and they shipped in hay from all over. With it came weird seeds.
I got the epazote in my yard, but they say that some folks have tumbleweed!

It is pretty enough, if boring.
By the end of season the stems get woody.
It smells of lemons and creosote and kerosene.
