I have read several threads where people are feeding BOSS. What is it? and where do you get it? I understand it has lots of fat in it. Is that for helping skinny does put on a little weight? What are the benefits of BOSS?
    Thanks

Puts gloss in coat, helps prevent and resolve skin problems by providing correct fatty acids, increases butterfat in milk.

And what would the average amount fed for an average milker? Do you continue feeding when dry? as doelings? I had goats a while and never gave them BOSS... lol. Goes to show can learn something new every day!

I feed my minis a couple of table spoons a day, so for a large doe, maybe 1/4 cup? I can tell you this, a 50 pound sack lasts a long, long time. :D

Oops! Sorry. Only gave half an answer. Oh, well, I just woke up so I have an excuse, don't I? Anyway, I feed them year round. Doesn't hurt for doelings to get some too, in about the same proportion. I give them with grain, though, so if a doeling isn't geting any grain, she doesn't get any BOSS.

Just a note, I noticed that the BOSS that I got in Walmart had additional vitamins for birds. I have since stopped buying from them and get some that is clean.
