1978 1/2 ton pickup on it's second engine. This engine has plugs, points and a condenser and is still going strong.

By the way, this truck has been through my Dad, me, a brother, another brother, a nephew then back to me. The first brother trashed the origional engine (one of many vehicle engines), the second brother replaced the engine in about '95.

Sorry, one of my non-"homestead" acquisitions.....but it's 'cause I have to pull a hay trailer a couple times a year. Really!

2004 Ford F-350 Turbo Diesel 4x4, 4 doors, short bed. Proof this little old lady still has some spunk! Fought DH and the salesman all the way, didn't want it, but it only took about 25 miles to make me a believer. Now if they want it back, they'll have to pry my dead, stiff fingers off that steering wheel! :haha:

My daily driver is a 1949 Chevrolet 3800 series one ton grain bed truck. It has the 216 cu. in. inline 6 cylinder pushing a 4 speed transmission.

The truck sets on 18" tires with duals in the rear.

I am currently refurbishing it and picked up metal diamond plate for the truck bed this afternoon. I have shortened the original bed from 10 feet to 8 feet in length.

I bought paint for the cab a couple of weeks ago but haven't had time to get it on yet. It will be a close match to the "Forrest Green" stock color.

When daylight is past each day I peruse a catalog and am preparing an order for many parts such as rubber goods, i.e. weatherstripping, also door glass and channels, electrical windshield wiper conversion, new floor mat, door panels, headliner, etc.

Already done is most of the rewiring.

One day at a time when I have time. It takes some money too, we can't forget that.

Me, a 1984 Slant six Dodge short bed Ram, it gets 27-33 mph and it has a 4 speed tranny, origional engine; Hubby, a 1980 Chevy Silverado short bed, small V8 and not teh origional one, automatic tranny, gas mileage...dunno as his sits in the drive most of the time. IF gasline gets to $2.50, I am going to pure horsepower and will be driving my silver dappled stallion!

    I don't drive much, but when I do I have a 2004 Toyota Matrix.
Hubby drives his wee little 2000 Toyota Echo.

Used to have a truck, but had to sell it.
There are times we need a truck, but the way the gas prices are...we can wait.

Just got me an 02 subaru forester...goes where I need, and gets great gas mileage...still have my ole tuffy, the 92 subaru loyale, with 300,000 no smoke yet...she's kind of sick, but maybe one of these days I'll be able to do some work on her. I have 76 and 77 chevy pu, with 350's.... These are my "someday" cars...someday I'll rebuild the motor and make one good one out of two. :haha: The 77 has one of the toughest 350 motors I've ever seen...plus it is my first car....so there is a lot of sentemental value there. I also have an old 75 caddy[with the 500 ci motor in it] that I want to make into a hot rod.... someday!! And last but certainly not least, is my 57 HD panhead....she's fixing to get a fresh new look...it may take a while, as I'm going to tear her pretty all the way down, and start over............
