My mom told me once that when she was young, a neighbor had some medium sized rabbits that were black, with a white ring around the neck, and navy blue eyes. Anyone got a clue?

I thought that. I looked in the ARBA book, but it didnt say anything about a blue eyed variety. Mom said she thought he called them New Zealand something. She said it was definitely 3 words. And she said they were bigger than a dutch, but not as big as a New Zealand White. (I have both)

Bunch of breeds come in solid white w/ blue eyes, but judging from your discription, my guess would be Dutch.

I've Dutch, & I bought a blue eyed dutch buck & bred him just to see. So far some of his get are comeing Blue-eyed, it's probably a "fault" but it looks way cool. :)
