    Hi all,
my doe is due to kid tomorrow. I put a baby monitor out in the barn,
to listen for her, so I wont miss it.
Now...Im listening, and aside from the grunting-if you remember my
post last week on it...lol-I dont know what to listen for!!
So, what will I be listening for, to know when/if she goes into labor
    tonight?

I have a baby monitor in the barn too- so I've only slept in the barn for 2 nights instead of 12...
I'm told some goats don't make any sound. My 3 (so far) does started with a few soft moans and some teeth gnashing. When they got into pushing labor they sounded like this:

nnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! (pant pant pant) NNNNNNNGGGAHHH! GAH! GAH! (repeat for 5-15 minutes)

The yearling that kidded yesterday completely lost her voice. Today she can only say aa.

When my last goat went into labour there was a very clear scream of " Hey !!!!! I'm having a baby here...come help me !!!"
When it happens there will likely be no mistaking it.
    Good luck with the birthing.]

What AnnaS said (well said, actually). I also use a monitor and in the kiddings here, thus far, there is NO MISTAKING the sound. Good luck with your kidding! My last of the season is due in a little over 4 weeks.
