Do we put Christian story hour in the same category as drag queen story hour?
The headline is misleading. There was an overwhelming response to the event. They quoted a pastor without specifying his affiliation who claimed Cameron was spreading hate and propaganda, and a woman without noting if she was even a local resident.

He has every right to be there too. After all it’s a Public Library.
Funny use of the word “too”. A parent might choose to take or not take their child to a Christian-centric, or Muslim-centric story hour at our public library. However, the “too” in your post is referencing that same scenario except with a perverse sexualized themed story hour, which no parent should have the option to take their children to in our public spaces. In fact, it’s worth debating whether the parent that chooses to do that in a private space should be prosecuted.

We may not all agree on politics or worship practices, but if we can’t all agree that it’s wrong to expose young children to sexual themes, then maybe it is time for us to split up.

Your side can take some of the states and base your hiring practices on identity quotas, rather than merit, teach your white children to hate themselves, sexually pervert your children, teach your male children to cut off their genitals and fear firearms, and teach them all to believe what CNN tells them to believe.

The rest of us will take the other states, and live in a country that can prosper.

Yes, too…as a continuation of the conversation in another thread.
The rest of your reply is pure drivel.

If you found the person in the blurred out photo sexually provocative, well, that’s on you, LOL.
My guess is the children being read to won’t remember it either, whether it’s Kirk Cameron or a Dragger.

One of the "protestors" (read: Plant, aka confederate) said this: "Annie Philaxis says she was against the event because she says there is a lot of religious trauma that comes from events like this one."

Annie Philaxis? Really?

That is not a real name. Anaphylaxis.

Gah.

Your guess that children aren't affected by a man exposing his groin, while dressed as a woman in a school would be somewhat ignorant of history and how impressionable little children are.
In fact, being so impressionable seems to be why they are targeted.
Well, maybe I’d agree with you IF your picture even exposed anything, and now I see “exposed” takes on a new meaning for some. Adult nudity in front of children is not what is happening, now is it? At least be honest.

Sheesh, I accidentally “exposed” myself as a young child on the playground when I wore a dress, as did so many other children. We did wear shorts under our dresses (dresses were required attire at the time) in gym class. I’ve seen boys take leaks as a child and no one considered any of it perverted because it wasn’t!

I’ll go back to the days at the pool and men/boys in speedos, yes, they had bulges, and that’s how men are made, lesson over. Were they deliberately exposing their goods, maybe, maybe not, were mothers and fathers jeering at the sidelines at them? Were they asked to leave? Not that I remember.

I think a person could reasonably explain to their child, if they chose to take them to the library for story time that the people there were men dressed up as women, or that they were Christians that wrote a book. Of course they could also just leave the library or stay home and not take them if what the found was offensive.

Up here in Canada we have men who pretend to be women going into public change rooms nude, while young girls are present. And we have mayors and councils who support these men.

We on the right said this would happen. The left said, no no no, that won’t happen! Ugh. Sick.
Curious, what is a public change room, where are they?

You don't have to agree with me, and I am not trying to convince you. You are free to own your opinion.
Regardless, it is outside the norm to behave in such a manner. Attempting to normalize abnormal behavior doesn't necessarily make it normal.

Im not sure. In that a library is generally a public building in that it’s owned by the government I’m not sure how it squares with the whole ”freedom of religion“ issue. If it’s open to all religions to have a story hour, that would seem to satisfy it.
I took a quick gander at the Kirk Cameron book on Amazon and it doesn’t seem to be overtly Christian. From the little I saw, he could be talking about Allah, The Great Spirit or The Flying Spaghetti Monster.
