Looking for ways to live better on our farms and homesteads is starting to get the media's attention. There is an in-depth article in Mother Jones about Joel Salatin's farm. See http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/2006/05/no_bar_code.html

Pay special attention to sociological issuses the writer addresses.
This is more than just about farming.

    Enjoy.

Good article. Reminds me of the Georgia farmer they interviewed on the 6 o'clock news last week concerning the high fuel prices. He said, "If you like being dependent on foreign fuel, you're gonna LOVE being dependent on foreign food."

I like the line "good, fresh, trustworthy food", I think I will use that to market my hogs this fall, thanks for sharing that article!

This train of thought could explain the push by the government toward the NAIS and Bird flu junk. A better way of life is out there, but what would it do to the companies who believe we can't live without them?

I bet Paint Rock Valley is nice today .... I can only dream..................
