Hi, just wanted to let you guys know that I got a suspicious email supposedly from Saudi Arabia saying a farmer with a non-Middle Eastern looking name is looking to buy rabbits and rabbit equipment. It sounded a lot like a scam a few years ago regarding a person in Switzerland wanting to buy goats and asking for your social security number and other very personal information.
    Anyway, watch out.

I recently listed some kittens for adoption on Craigslist and another site and got no legitimate responses, but I DID get a couple of really weird, poorly written and misspelled letters wanting to BUY a kitten from some dude in Africa somewhere, lol.

Right. And I bet he's got some swamp land in Florida for me, too.

I get emails like that occasionally, but you never know if they're legit or not...so I send them a polite email stating that I don't ship rabbits and offering to help them find someone a bit closer (I know, I'm too nice. :) ), but so far, no one's responded. Wonder why.

Just pays to use common sense, and NEVER, I repeat, NEVER give out information like your credit card number online.

Although this particular inquiry may be a scam, some are legitimate.

A breeder here in Texas recently shipped rabbits to
    Anguilla, BWI (British West Indies).

Several years ago I was contacted regarding shipping to Saudi
Arabia. I was not close enough to an airport to handle the
sale so I passed it along to a friend. He shipped the rabbits and
made a very nice profit. It took about 3 months to complete
    the transaction.

With the shipment to Saudi Arabia, the money was *wired* to my
friend and transfer of funds to his bank confirmed before the rabbits were shipped.
