Last night my brother had a flue fire that wiped out part of a inside and outside wall of his house. The furnace in the basement was cold so the creosote must of smoldered all day because the smoke wasn't noticed until around 8:30 at night. No one was hurt but the firemen had to pull down the flue.

The flue was cleaned , we busted up the flue and found the old clay liner was cracked and creosote was draining down between the liner and cement flue blocks must of been draining for years . His first fire in the furnace this season.
