Hello, I would like to hire somebody for 1-2 days to guide me as we walk through my piece of raw land in Tennessee. This property is in the Upper Cumberland Plateau of TN, in Jackson County (40 minutes north of Cookeville). It is on paved highway, about 8 acres of field and 10 acres in woods. You would you need to help me walk throughout the property on a weekend in August to help me identify what is growing there. I know there are lots of weeds and wildflowers in the field, and a mix of low shrubs and trees in the woods. I would like help in identifying what is growing there, what is edible, what is toxic to humans/livestock, what has practical uses, how long it will take for some of the trees to mature, and perhaps make some recommendations on what to plant and/or remove. I do not live in Tennessee and so would greatly appreciate someone who is highly familiar with the local flora. If this person enjoys pointing out what they see and sharing their knowledge, that would be more helpful than me constantly asking "what is this? what is that? how can I use it?" I am a woman and will be escorted by at least one man. Please reply with a list of your credentials including any related education you may have and/or related life experience in the area. ("I have lived in these parts for x years", "I have been foraging for y years", "I have a degree in botany" etc.) Please also include how much you'd like to be compensated for your time and expertise. I will provide you with at least one meal per day in addition to financial compensation. Alternately, if you can recommend someone, I'd be highly appreciative. THANKS!
