Is the border still closed to breeding stock? I've got one, but I'm in Ontario.

Unless they're really, really stupid, I don't think that's gonna work - he's got horns. (I disbudded him - they grew back. I had the vet dehorn him - they grew back :grump: ) I know! We could smuggle him by boat across the St. Lawrence! :p

As far as I know, the border is still closed except for animals under 30 months bound for slaughter. All those goats with Mad Cow Disease, dontcha know. :baby04:

We run a goat rescue operation here every year. The local goat dairy farmers normally kill the young bucks after they are born. We now have an arraingment with most of them that we get them. They are top quality Saanan bucks from great dairy herds. We normally rescue between 150-200 bucks. We wish we could save more but money is always an issue. Normally we sell the little guys for $20.00 This helps pay for milk relacer and gas to pick them all up. Ever try to keep 150 baby goats in one place when they all see the bottles coming. Its a scary sight. LOL

    Patty,

We raise Saanens and have nice bucklings available every spring. Our girls have lovely temperaments, do well in the Show ring and milk like crazy.
It is easier to ship a buckling (weight restrictions).
We live in Idaho, so you would have to factor in shipping costs.
PM me if you want more info.

Hey Patty, where are you? I have one Saanan buck, about two years old, from a line heavy in Sables. I also have a year old solid black rather clumsy Saanan buckling I can let go cheap. I've got a very cute and precious Sable Saanan who is black with white points and a white 'racing stripe' down the center of his 'parts'. And just popped out yesterday, a very large and robust buck kid, who's grandsire is Full Circle's Bill Baily. This boy is going to be huge. His dad my big buck Thibadeaux, weighs in at around 300 pounds. I can send pictures. BTW I'm in Southern Mississippi and I don't know a thing about shipping goatlings fed ex.

Here is a picture of my Sable buckling. He was born Good Friday of last year. His name is Flying Turtle's Rescue Me but he's called Flash because of his 'flashy' markings and his 'racing stripe'.

Oh, and he loves giving 'goat sugars'...

Yes please send me pictures of the younger ones. Everyone is bred for this year so no adults needed.

    Thanks , Patty

    Sherrie,

Yes, we have Purebreds and American Saanens.

We have been very pleased when we "cross" a Purebred with an American.
Victor, our Purebred buck, gave beautiful dished faces to all of our girls (and my Saanen buddy up here in N. Idaho), good bone, lovely toplines, and his momma's length. It really seems like what we see is what we get with him.
