Ken,

I don't know if this will help or not, I'm not real familiar with corn types. Sounds like you have to jump through a few hoops like joining, sending a growing journal plus a 3rd of the seed back to them and a 3rd to another farmer after you get and grow the seed. Might be worth a try.

If you scroll down to "Southern Seed Legacy Seed Photographs" and check out #430 I hope this is what you're looking for.

From the University of Georgia:

The purpose of this website is to educate people on the various projects being undertaken to conserve the southern legacy of seeds and knowledge. The projects are under the leadership of the Ethnoecology and Biodiversity Lab as well as the Sustainable Human Ecosystems Lab located at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.

Hickory Cane is not listed at the GA site.

Sorry Ken for not explaining myself better. My computer was acting up and that was my third attempt at posting.

When you go to: http://www.uga.edu/~ebl/southernheirloom/ scroll down to "Southern Seed Legacy Seed Photographs". This takes you to the page they are calling their catalog, it's pictures only. When you get to that page, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and Hickory Cane is listed as number 430. It's the second one up on the right side of the page. That page is tough to read.

You have to join to be able to order the seed. I didn't read all the particulars but there's one membership that's free.
Hope this helps.
