I just noticed my bottle of vitamin C has an expiration date of 2010 is it still ok to take I mean I'm sure its not poisonous but is it still going to do anything or maybe should I count on being 50% of the strength or what?
And also I would like to know this because if you stock up on some would be good to know...thanks

It does degrade. How fast depends on a lot of factors. It won't hurt you, but might not help much. I'd still take it, but I'd take it with fresh stuff to be sure you're getting enough.

If you stock up, store the unopened bottles in a cool dry dark place.

I use it past the expiration. My theory is that Vit C is not dangerous, so just take more if in doubt. You can take it to bowel tolerance. Even beyond bowel tolerence, it doesn't hurt you. It is just uncomfortable if you get diarrhea. Linus Pauling always suggested taking it to bowel tolerance so your body has more than enough to prevent diseases.
