We have a plant that is growing all over by our creek. It is green with a heart shaped leaves. This past spring, it had beautiful flowers from it, until I mowed it. It seems to thrive even in the heat and draught.
Does someone have an idea of what plant this is? I think it is growing wild, and it could be vincas but not sure.
    Thanks for your help,
    Joe

They are plants that are in clusters. Flowers are purple.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Sounds like wood violets to me. I have them growing everywhere, here. I use them to border my flower beds. Some people like them, while others dislike them. I have a picture of mine, if you'd like to email me, I'd be happy to send you the picture.
