One of our 4 month old saanens is very hairy on her spine and back legs. Kinda like a billy would be. The other one isn't, and the momma isn't. Can this just be normal, or is it possible that she is a hermaphrodite?

Maybe just got a little more testosterone in the womb than the other doeling....doesnt make her an hermaphrodite....just more buck like. ;)

Is it long or short hair ? All goats can grow cashmere. I know someone that has a registered Boar, and they grow cashmere, it is not good quality at all but they do have it.

I have a few does that do that. I think it's a family trait or something, because if one doe does it, so do her doe kids.

I have a very feminine Saanen doe who grows hair just like that. It gets up to 8 inches long on her back legs! Every year I shave it off for shows, and it grows back in the winter. Other then the hair, she is, as I already said, very feminine. She's a good milker, too.
