vcr

    When you put a movie in the vcr spits it right back out. Won't play or anything. Spits it out and shuts off. Any ideas? Thanks

    About 5 years old. Orion brand. I know I can buy a new one for $40 or so but I don't want to!

    I asked my uncle, the family "electronics guy", about VCR repair. His reply ...

    Unless you're good at repairing electronic stuff yourself, toss it and get another one.

    He gave up repairing VCRs and CB radios professionally because the total cost of repairs - parts plus labor - made it unprofitable. Folks simply don't want to pay almost double the price of new to repair the old item.
