So far so good....Quin(the baby cria) is doing wonderful. Already within a day of being here I can lead him on halter pretty well. Very confident little fellow and very friendly to boot. Doesn't really spook at loud noises. I am handling him a ton. And he really is starting to like me touching him and stuff. At first you couldn't really touch him or handle. I am suprised at how well he is doing. I think I have become his seragint mother or something. Already when I leave the barn or what not he starts crying for me. . He sure is a cutie pie. I will get a good picture of him either today or tomorrow and show you all.

ps: I am probably going to end up buying him.

Can't hardly wait. :) :) Don't know that I have seen this cross before. Is the offspring sort of like a mule as far as being non productive?

No they can reproduce. I am wrong he is 7/8th's Alpaca so he is basicly almost pure. His mom is a 75%er. He still is beautiful. Maybe today I can get a picture of him.

MotherClucker, He is very cute. :) I like the look of your barn also. In your last photo where they are eating through the stock pannels, are they eating hay? It looks so pretty and green on my screen. Never seen hay that nice and green here in the south.

Yea..now remember he isn't mine yet but like I said I will probably end up buying him. If its ok with the parents I will buy him. My mom is learning how to knit and she wants to spin also and since he is going to have such wonderful wool my mom is like..."well maybe we will get him". Lol...she is a sucker for cute faces and huge brown eyes. The funny thing is that Quin's eyes are Chocolate brown with blue flecks in them. His mom has pure blue eyes. He is rather uniqe in that way and is just down right lovely to handle and be around. As you can tell he isn't that big. He is amongst my baby goats right now (baby meaning not a year yet..they are all in the 8-10 month range) plus I have my one pregnent boer doe in there to. I will get a picture of him next to one of my adult goats so you can get a feel for how little he is.

Yes. He is 7/8ths Alpaca and 1/8ths Llama. His mom is 75% Alpaca and 25% Llama. His dad was pure Alpaca.
