    Hello All,
Next year we will be hosting only twelve guests for the summer at Paw Creek Homestead in South West Alaska. We are trying to get our feet wet in our future business as a small lodge catering to fisherman, photographers, sightseers, and those looking for a bit of adventure. For 2005 lodging will be in large canvas tents with wood burning stoves. A friend and resident of the nearest native village will be guiding with us as well. We will be charging just over what it costs us to run our guests. Fuel and food are expensive in the remote Alaskan Bush, we are paying about $4.50 per gallon of gas. Transportation will by by bush plane, ATV and Jet boat. Just getting to the Paw Creek Homestead will be worth the cost of the visit. A round trip ticket to Anchorage from most of the lower 48 can be had for about $400. Guests will fly through the Chigmit Mountain Range, kind of looks like the Tetons with a lot more Tetons and a few active volcanos thrown in, the flight is spectacular.

As many of you know Pam and I will be building our home at Paw Creek and will be moving our family there year round when we have closed in and finished paying for our project in full. With any luck we will be closed in by fall of 2007.

If you have never visited Alaska and want to get a feel for the Alaskan Bush, possibly to homestead there yourself, don't miss the opportunity to come out and visit us.

    Warmest Regards,

    Countrymom,
Let's see,.. from people during the summer we are about six air miles from another family, during the winter it is more like 20 miles to the nearest native community. (not all native) Northern Dynasty "Pebble" project is about fourty miles down the lake and ten miles North West of the town of Iliamna. The only impact on us will be increased trafic on the Pile Bay, Williamsport road should they take this route. Eventually it could increase traffic to the S.W. drastically if they decide to road from Anchorage- don't think this will happen though. Northery Dynasty is looking for a deep water port on the West side of Cook inlet which means they will have to cross the Iliamna River and the Pile River at some point. Have not heard about where they plan to do that. Currently there is only one road into Iliamna and it terminates 15 miles from where it begins on the West Side of Cook Inllet at Williamsport. Williamsport is not a town, just a loader and a couple of buildings. In short we are very far from people =)

    Eric,

Yes we have room for a few more people. I will email you with more details.
