Yesterday a friend commented on how the udder on my Alpine doe is irregular. Sure enough the right side is now hanging lower. I'm sure they hung equally before. I checked the lower hanging teat and it felt empty.

    Any thoughts? Concerns?

She is in with wethers and seems like she may be in heat judging by the wiggly tail, sore disposition towards the wethers and rubbing on me.

Did she have any milk before. I have had males nurse on females in heat as part of their "ritual".

I've only had her since May or June. The previous owner said she had a kid last winter and her bag looked good so I would assume she has produced milk before.

I haven't seen any wether try to nurse but then I'm not there most of the time.

The teat on that side felt hollow.
