The other thread on replanting corn got me thinking. The crows and my chickens have had a field day with the corn. 3 rows are very sparse. Should I try to dig the surviving plants and plant them closer together to help with pollination and to take up less space in the garden or leave the survivors where they are and possibly hand polinate. The plants are only a few inches high now.

I have done that at times and if you water the transplants well they usually do well. What I do now is plant some extra corn seed in paper pots and if I have spaces to fill in these plants are at the same stage and don't suffer transplant shock.
