Anyone ever use the "seeds" from the top of garlic plants? Can you use as you would cloves? How?

    Can you plant them?

I didn't know these types (Russian and German Red) set on top ... unless they "went to seed".

When they do, is the bulb basically done growing? They should have grown a lot longer! Very dry, very hot season though.

    Not a damn redneck but.........

I have used the seed heads just like the bulbs in cooking and salalds. Once it goes to seed your pretty much looking at all the energy going to the seed head and not the bulb anymore. You could leave a few of the bulbs in ground and wait till next year for bigger growth. And yes you can plant the seed heads in the fall and they should over winter and start to grow next spring.

It was the "Damn" I was in denial about........LOL

Pop one of those seeds in your mouth, those babies are "HOT"! All the flavor is concentrated in that little seed.
