Does this girl have too much wool for a Missouri summer? It gets about 95 during the heat of the day. The guy we bought her from said she was one of them that he thought didn't need to be sheared this year. We are worried her wool is just too thick. She'd probably feel better if it were sheared, and if she's a "hair" breed there's a good chance it will never grow back that thick.

I would shear her. Nothing like wearing a sweater around in the summer....:p

I don't shear my hair sheep - it has been near 100 degrees and they are all doing fine. They just find some shade and spend the hot part of the day there. I haven't noticed any stress so far - and I have a couple that carry a big "blanket" of fur all year. My main ram also keeps some hair all year.
